Hey! So, we’re Aidan and David, and almost a year ago we decided to collaborate on a project. At the time, Aidan had been making strange, fun indy games<\/a> and I had been making experimental art projects in VR<\/a> as part of my PhD studies at York University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our first project together is After Dan Graham<\/em>, an experimental mixed reality installation inspired by a Dan Graham video installation from the 1970s. The project is both an homage to Graham’s work and an investigation into the creative and subversive potentials inherent in the corporeal data that drives VR. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After Dan Graham<\/em> is an ongoing project and, we hope, the first of many. So far, this collaboration has been both exciting and fruitful and we’re super happy to be able to start to share the results of our work with the world. But, in order to do so, we needed a name. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After some brain storming exercises, we opted for Friend Generator, which was actually a runner-up title for an early version of After Dan Graham. We like this name because we hope that our work brings people together, if even just to laugh and say “Wow, that’s so fun and weird!” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So feel free to poke around here and see what we’ve made. We love feedback, so if you’ve got some ideas or criticisms or praise or advice, or just want to chat, we’d love to hear from you. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
